Mariko Fujimoto Rooks (she/hers) calls Culver City, California home. A future public/community health practitioner who is also dual enrolled at the Yale School of Public Health as a Master's in Public Health candidate, Mariko is deeply invested in how we can generate community-centered methods of healing and resilience. In particular, Mariko has both a personal and communal connection to the practice of oral history through interview and her identity as a mixed race Black/Japanese American woman. She is particularly invested in how this process allows us to understand embodied history and trauma to preserve, honor, and heal communities of color.
